NURSE AIDE- FLINT
The nurse aide is an important person in the care of our clients. The primary function of the nurse aide is the personal care of the clients and the accomplishment of nurse aide functions in various healthcare settings as outlined in the Plan of Care (POC) under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- High school graduate\or GED is required
- CNA – current certificate from the State of Michigan
- Proof of 75 hours of CNA, HHA, PCT or MORC training
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – a state certified nurse aide with current certification and six (6) months of closely supervised health care experience in a hospital or facility with direct RN supervision within the past year or one (1) year of home care experience.
- Home Health Aide (HHA) (PCT) (MORC) – one who has completed at least 75 hours of training; must have certificate of training or evidence of training completion and six (6) months of closely supervised health care experience (hospital or facility with direct RN supervision) within the past year or one (1) year of home care experience.
- Companion/Home Maker – one who has no evidence of 75 hours of training but has acquired the basic skills required of the position as evidenced by a Skills Evaluation conducted by MPI and six (6) months of closely supervised health care experience (assisted living, group home, senior living communities) with direct RN supervision within the past year or one (1) year of home care experience with nursing supervision.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE/VOCATIONAL NURSE
The LPN/LVN provides direct nursing care to the client as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with regulations as established by the Michigan State Board of Nursing, the client, and the policies of the Organization. The Nurse cares for clients in their homes. Nurses might see a patient for short visits or spend eight (8) to twelve (12) hour shifts with a client. Home health care enables clients who are permanently disabled, or who are suffering from extended illnesses, even lifelong or terminal illnesses, to remain at home. The LPN/LVN may need to treat a variety of clients. Client ages may range from children to the elderly who are coping with chronic illness. Clients may have serious ailments, such as cancer, or be victims of a serious injury as the result of an accident. They may be recovering or dying. As a result, home health nurses must be able to cope with each individual situation, administering the proper treatment and compassion.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical/Vocational nursing
- Current Michigan LPN/LVN licensure
- Current CPR certification
- Possess technical nursing skills as defined by generally accepted nursing standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess flexibility and the ability to fit in as a team member
- Must also be able to communicate effectively with patients and their families
- At least one year's general nursing experience in a clinical area i.e. Medical/Surgery, Oncology, or Critical care

Physical requirements of this position:

The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
